You raise a good question. Yet, evangelical churches have surpassed Black churches in the focus on politics. Black churches mostly organize their members to vote to maintain civil rights. Evangelicals have now, unfortunately, become more focused on denying rights to people.

I object to any “nonprofits” being used as a way to channel dark-money donations from billionaires. It’s just another way they hide money from taxation while trying to reshape the country for their own benefit. Most don’t even care about religion or its followers.

I agree that the law is weak. That may change as the agency is strengthened.
